Abstract [Ita]

Abstract [Eng]

The essay discusses the function Hegel ascribes to intellectual intuition in the context of the philosophical conception he developed in the early years of his Jena period (1801-1803). By focusing on the Differenzschrift and the Fragmente aus Vorlesungsmanuskripte, it tries to highlight how Hegel seeks in intellectual intuition the methodological and cognitive resources which are required by the foundation and realization of his program of an absolute metaphysics. The analysis of the texts shows, however, that Hegel gradually recognises the thetical character of intellectual intuition and its inability to express the necessary orientation of the system towards self-knowledge. For these reasons, in the second half of his Jena period (1804-1806), he revised his conception of the foundations of philosophy, thus developing the dialectical method and distancing himself from a thinking perspective that had united him with Schelling.

Keywords: intellectual intuition, Hegel, Schelling, dialectic, Differenzschrift.
