Il "fuori luogo" della politica è qui inteso come esodo dai luoghi della rappresentanza e come comportamento urticante o inopportuno. Esaurita la retorica della spoliticizzazione riemerge una potenza del negativo come nucleo metafisico del politico, che assume forme diverse tra "mare e terra", nel mondo anglosassone e nel continente europeo. Le forme politiche sono condizionate dalla "fase termidoriana" del capitalismo, che accentua i controlli dopo aver esaurito la fase rivoluzionaria della deregulation. La causa dell'ingovernabilità è nello scarto tra potenza e saggezza della trasformazione. Le soluzioni possibili sono da ricercare nell'educazione come capacità di governo e nella città come misura dell'umano.

“Out of place” in politics is here intended as an exodus from representation and as an urticating and inappropriate behaviour. The rhetoric of de-politicisation being over, a power of the negative as the metaphysical nucleus of policy comes to light, which takes on different forms “between sea and land”, in the Anglo-Saxon world and on the European continent. The political forms are influenced by the “Thermidorian phase” of capitalism, that stresses control after the end of the deregulation revolutionary phase. The reason for ungovernability is in the gap between the power and the wisdom of transformation. Possible solutions are to be found in education as the capability of government and in the city as a measure of the human.
