Il concetto di negazione costituisce la metacategoria della filosofia hegeliana. Indagarne la polisemia e la molteplicità delle funzioni è indispensabile per provare a delucidare e a sbrogliare la complessità della dialettica in Hegel. Questo scritto intende mostrare come nelle tre sezioni della Scienza della logica il significato e la funzione della negazione muti a seconda di una diversa collocazione e funzione dell’alterità. Nello stesso tempo vuole mostrare anche come la Dottrina del concetto contenga indicazioni preziose di carattere etico e antropologico che possono facilitare, dopo tanta intersoggettività postmoderna, un ritorno alla centralità filosofica della questione del «soggetto».

The concept of denial is the metacategory of Hegelian philosophy. Investigating its polysemy and multiplicity of functions is essential to try to elucidate and to loose the complexities of the dialectic in Hegel. This paper aims to show how inside the three sections of the Science of Logic the meaning and function of the denial change in relationship with a different location and function of otherness. At the same time the paper also wants to show how the Theory of the concept contains valuable and profound indications of ethical and anthropological kind that can facilitate a return, after the time of intersoggettivity and of the «liquid» postmodernism, to the philosophical centrality of the "subject matter."
