Muovendo dalle biografie kantiane di Borowski e Jachmann, il contributo vuole offrire alcune considerazioni sul problema in senso lato autobiografico in Kant, a partire dalle quali riproporre la questione del rapporto tra soggettività trascendentale e soggetto empirico. Per far questo, l’articolo sottolinea anzitutto l’interesse di Kant per le proprie biografie. Mostra come questo assuma la forma peculiare di un’autobiografia negativa: qualcosa come un’autopresentazione per interposta persona. Tenta allora di ripetere il gesto autobiografico kantiano rileggendo l’autobiografia critica di Lyotard, e in tal modo, sviluppando l’idea lyotardiana per cui si “scrive io” solo de-scrivendosi nella propria situazione, ritorna all’analisi kantiana dell’empirico nel saggio del 1768 Sul primo fondamento della distinzione delle regioni nello spazio. Il risultato, per opposizione geometrica a Lyotard, è il recupero dell’affermazione kantiana per cui è possibile individuare l’io nel proprio luogo solo riferendo il plesso io-luogo (il soggetto empirico) allo spazio logico dell’Io. Il contributo si chiude dunque con la riproposizione del problema del rapporto tra io e Io.

Moving from the Kantian biographies of Borowski and Jachmann, my contribution proposes some considerations on the “autobiographical problem” in Kant, through which I want to re-propose the question of the relationship between the transcendental and the empirical I. To do this, the article firstly points out Kant’s interest in his own biographies. It shows how this takes the peculiar form of a negative autobiography: something like “a self-presentation by a third person”. The article then tries to repeat the Kantian autobiographical gesture by reading Lyotard’s critical autobiography. Developing Lyotard’s idea according to which one writes “I” only de-scribing oneself in one’s own situation, it passes to Kant’s description of the empirical in the essay Von dem ersten Grunde des Unterschiedes der Gegenden im Raume. The result, in geometric opposition to Lyotard, is the recovery of the Kantian affirmation according to which it’s possible to identify the I in its own place only by referring the I-place plexus (the empirical subject) to the logical space of the I. The article ends with the re-proposition of the problem of the relationship between the empirical subject and the logical I.
