Il saggio vuole essere insieme autobiografia e riflessione sull’autobiografia, ad un tempo scrittura di sé e problema di scrittura, percorso singolare e verità universale. Non basta però che dichiari ciò che vuole essere: si tratta di verificare cosa accada nella composizione della figura che si disegna tra i due termini tra i quali il saggio tenta la sua via. Tra ricordi e dimenticanze, per ipotesi successive, e un finale (o iniziale?) distacco.

The essay aims at being both an autobiography and a reflection on autobiography, at the same time a writing of oneself and a writing problem, a singular path and a universal truth. However, it is not enough to state what it wants to be: it is a question of verifying what happens in the composition of the figure that is drawn thanks to the two poles between which the essay tries to make its way. Between memory and oblivion, for successive hypotheses, and a final (or inchoative?) detachment.
